BALANCHINE & THE CLASSICS

JUNE 5—28, 2025

This June, join us for the world premiere of The Euterpides — Alma Deutscher’s first ballet. Since February, Alma and ACB Director Lincoln Jones have been developing the work across continents: Lincoln sending her ideas for the theme, premise, and structure from Los Angeles, while Alma composed melodies and variations from her home in Vienna.

This extraordinary new ballet will be paired with the company premiere of George Balanchine’s Serenade — a landmark of 20th-century ballet that changed the art forever. Set to Tchaikovsky’s luminous score, Serenade remains as mesmerizing today as when it debuted in 1934, a work of enduring beauty, mystery, and poetic power.
